And what makes a manifesto, killer?
First and foremost, a manifesto should manifest.
It gives shape to the shrapnel cloud of ideas around a concept and turns the most useful ones into seamless parts of one murderously sharp spike.
It seeds the logic and language of a brand or campaign by defining precise meaning. establishing poetic license and painting a picture of the world from your point of view.
It can show depth and breadth of a creative strategy. It can take an idea from intimate insight to grand ideals and back again. It can tie contemporary cultural insights to timeless human desire, and connect the daily realities of your business to the future you’re promising.
If you’re an agency pitching for new business or a startup pitching for funds - even if every other word in your deck is wrong - a killer manifesto can land what’s right about your idea.
It really should be the very first, foundational slab of brand building. But if you’re already on the journey, it can be used to make sense of everything that’s gone before and show the path forward.
